Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano grapes are picked from some of our younger, trellised vineyards where we select fruit that has a lot of juicy, fruitiness and crisp acids.
Really healthy grapes were harvested and after a slow fermentation in tank at controlled temperatures, the wine was transferred to barrel. A very small quantity of new American oak barrels coupled with predominantly 2nd and 3rd year French oak gives a little spice and aids the evolution of the wine from something fruit led to something a little more complex and delicious.
If you've ever had the pleasure of a "tapas crawl" along Logroño's Calle Laurel, you will have seen that the preferred wine for many of the locals is the Joven, or young wine. This delicious, sappy young red displays the beauty and potential of the region so well and it also is a great accompaniment to some of the richer foods available. We love this style but undestand that many people want a little more spice and richness so we take the young succulent joven style and blend in a little of the softer, more oaky wine to give a beautiful young red with succulent fruits, a touch of vanilla and just enough spice.
