El Primero Graciano Garnacha
250 ha of vineyards are planted on clay-limestone soil at an average height of 400m above sea level. Meticulous attention to detail in the vineyards, coupled with the extreme climate, offer the perfect conditions for the production of great wines. Grapes are all hand-picked in early October. This wine is a blending of two native varieties of one of the most renowned appellations in Spain, the Ebro valley where Rioja and Navarra regions come together.
The grapes arrive at the winery and have a cold soak prior to fermentation to enable the extraction of fruit flavours before tannin and alcohol. Fermentation is kept cool to retain fruit character before a post ferment maceration of 5 days. 8 months in used oak helps to soften the exuberant character.
This wine is all about the fruit. Delicious, herbal, wild strawberry laden Garnacha and the more peppery, spicy black fruits of Graciano. Delicious, refreshing and moreish.
